§ 14.04.440. Pollution of utility or water source unlawful.

  • It is unlawful for any person to cast, place, dump or deposit in the water utility any substance or material which will in any manner injure or obstruct the same, or any material or substance which will contaminate or pollute the water in the water utility or in any pipe, reservoir, filter, sedimentation basin, or any equipment or appliance forming a part of the water utility, or in any manner to obstruct the water utility or pollute the water therein. It is unlawful for any person, in any manner, to pollute or contaminate the stream or source of water from which the city obtains its water for a distance of five miles around or above the intake of the water utility, or to have, keep or maintain, at, along or near the banks of said stream or source for a distance of five miles around or above the intake of the water utility, any building, privy, pen, yard or corral for stock, or to have, keep or conduct any business near such creek, as aforesaid, which will contaminate or pollute the waters of the creek or render the same unfit for domestic use.
