§ 16.48.060. Renewal of license.

    A licensee under this chapter may renew the license yearly by completing an application for renewal form furnished by the building official, paying the fees prescribed and filing the certificate of insurance prescribed by section 16.48.070. This certificate of insurance shall identify the limits of the insurance, policy number, name of insurance company, effective date and expiration date of each policy, and a copy of an endorsement requiring ten days' advance written notice to the chief building official in the event of cancellation.

    No contractor may renew a class A, B, C or mechanical license, unless the contractor completes the respective study guide provided by the building official and earns a passing grade. A license shall lapse unless the contractor successfully passes the appropriate study guide by June 30 of each year a successive International Building or Mechanical Code, respectively, comes into effect as provided by ordinance of the city council.
