§ 20.12.020. Basis for establishing the special flood hazard area.

  • The city shall utilize a scientific and engineering report prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) entitled "The Flood Insurance Study for Boulder County, Colorado and Incorporated Areas," dated December 18, 2012, with accompanying flood insurance rate maps (FIRM), as amended and revised periodically by FEMA. The special flood hazard areas identified by the flood insurance study FIS and attendant mapping are the minimum area of applicability of this title and may be supplemented by studies designated and approved by the city council. The floodplain administrator shall keep a copy of the FIS, DFIRMs, FIRMs and/or FBFMs on file and available for public inspection.
