§ 2.60.030. Powers and duties.

  • The library board shall advise the city council in all matters concerning the library, and the board shall have the following duties:

    A.

    To review annually the updated plan for library service;

    B.

    To review the library's annual budget request and to make recommendations on the proposed budget to the city council;

    C.

    To cooperate with any public or private agency on library matters;

    D.

    To make recommendations to the city council for the care of property devised or given to the board, or to the city, for library purposes, and to make recommendations to the city council as to the expenditure of any funds or securities that may have been or may be devised or given to the board or to the city for library purposes. Such funds shall be spent only for the specific purposes as contained in any gift, grant, devise or endowment; and

    E.

    To consider all policy matters pertaining to the city's library operation and to make recommendations to the city council.
