§ 3.04.140. Pay rate at appointment—Increases.

Upon original appointment all persons shall be paid at the minimum rate for the classification. However, the city manager may authorize original appointments at higher than the minimum rate within the designated pay range and acceleration through the pay steps at a rate in excess of the rate established by section 3.04.160(B) according to standards issued by the city manager if the employee demonstrates exceptional experience or training. If hired at a higher than minimum rate, such employee shall be eligible for salary increases in accordance with the approved pay plan.
