§ 3.04.320. Job vacancies.

    Method of filling vacancies. All vacancies for regular positions in the municipal service shall be filled by reemployment, transfer, demotion, or from eligibles certified by the human resources director from an appropriate employment list.

    B.

    Notice to human resources director. Whenever a vacancy is to be filled, notification shall be given to the human resources director. If there is no reemployment list available for the class, the city manager shall have the right to decide whether to fill the vacancy by transfer, demotion, appointment from a promotional employment list, appointment from an open employment list, or a combination of these categories.

    C.

    Appointment. All persons shall be selected on the basis of job-related criteria. No person shall be selected for employment without the approval of the executive director and the authorization of the city manager.
