§ 3.04.350. Medical examination.

  • The city may require any applicant offered appointment to a position, before appointment, to undergo a city-funded medical or psychological examination by a city-designated examiner. The purpose of the examination will be to establish whether the applicant can perform the essential duties of the offered position. The city manager may at any time also require a physical or mental examination of any city employee, to certify that the employee is capable of satisfactorily performing the employee's assigned duties. The city shall fund the examination and designate the examiner. The city may place an employee on administrative leave with pay pending examination findings.
