§ 3.04.530. Grievance—City policy—Grounds.

Latest version.
  • A.

Policy. It is the policy of the city to provide prompt and equitable resolution of employee grievances. Supervisors and employees are expected to make every effort to resolve problems timely and informally. When such informal means fail to resolve such problems satisfactorily, a formal grievance procedure is established. The purpose of this procedure is to provide a just and equitable method for the resolution of grievances without prejudice, coercion or reprisal.

    B.

Grounds for grievance. With the exception of matters pertaining to disciplinary action, performance evaluation and/or failure to grant a step or salary increase, any regular employee who has completed the probationary period may file a grievance in response to any perceived inconsistency in the application of any personnel rules or procedures, administrative regulations, approved departmental policies and rules, or any personnel-related provisions of the Municipal Charter.
