§ 3.04.730. Sick leave—Payment or transfer for accumulation upon termination.

    For regular employees whose employment terminates in the year 2001, and for those employees whose employment terminates in later years who are not participants in the city's retiree health savings plan, the city will convert the sick leave accumulated but not used before termination to a cash equivalent and pay to the employee at the rate of one hour for every two hours accumulated at the employee's hourly rate of pay as of the employee's termination date, subject to section 3.04.720.

    B.

    For regular employees whose employment terminates in the year 2002 and who are participants in the city's retiree health savings plan, the city will convert the sick leave accumulated but not used before termination to a cash equivalent at the employee's hourly rate of pay as of the employee's termination date and pay the employee at the rate of one hour for every four hours accumulated, subject to section 3.04.720. In addition, the city will convert the sick leave accumulated but not used before termination to a cash equivalent at the employee's hourly rate of pay as of the employee's termination date and pay to the employee's individual retiree health savings account at the rate of one hour for every four hours accumulated, subject to section 3.04.720.

    C.

    For regular employees whose employment terminates in the year 2003 or later and who are participants in the city's retiree health savings plan, the city will convert the sick leave accumulated but not used before termination to a cash equivalent at the employee's hourly rate of pay as of the employee's termination date and pay to the employee's individual retiree health savings account at the rate of one hour for every two hours accumulated, subject to section 3.04.720.
