§ 9.16.050. Business buildings—Notice of rat infestation evidence—Eradication measures.

  • Whenever the city inspector notifies the occupant of a business building in writing that there is evidence of rat infestation of the building, the occupant shall immediately institute rat eradication measures and shall continuously maintain such measures in a satisfactory manner until the premises are declared by the city inspector to be free of rat infestation. Unless such measures are undertaken within 15 days after receipt of notice, it shall be construed as a violation of the provisions of this Code, and the occupant shall be guilty of a offense under the provisions of this Code. The contracting of services of a commercial exterminator in good faith shall constitute evidence of active rat eradication.
